Meet our 2014 Candidates - Vote FlagstaffPart of the mission of your Chamber is serving as an advocate for business before government to affect good public policy that will help keep our local economy strong.
Having a government that understands business requires electing candidates that understand business.

BizPAC, an independent expenditure committee, is designed to help elect effective, business-minded candidates to the Flagstaff City Council.

In 2014, BizPAC will be used by the Chamber as a vehicle for independent expenditures to help elect to the Flagstaff City Council those candidates who have been endorsed by the Chamber's Board of Directors.

Facts on BizPAC

  • BizPAC is an independent expenditure. State law allows both individual and corporate contributions to this type of PAC
  • BizPAC is registered with the Flagstaff City Clerk 
  • BizPAC is established pursuant to the provisions of A.R.S. §16-903(A). The PAC is not affiliated with any political party or with any specific candidate for election
  • BizPAC is focused on elections at the local level
  • The Greater Flagstaff Chamber does not provide funding to BizPAC. BizPAC raises its own funds through voluntary contribution.
  • Contributions to BizPAC are voluntary and not tax deductible 
  • State and federal law allows unlimited contributions to this type of PAC from both individuals and corporations
  • BizPAC's funds are separate and segregated from the Chamber's funds
  • Campaign finances for BizPAC will be reported as required by law
  • BizPAC is administered through a committee and the Board of Directors of the Greater Flagstaff Chamber

More about BizPAC

In 2005, the Flagstaff Chamber formed BizPAC, an independent, pro-business political action committee designed to raise and spend money on behalf of candidates and propositions at the local level that affect the business community. BizPAC remains active today and has participated in raising funds to support candidates in the 2006, 2008 and 2010 elections as well as take positions on various ordinances.

BizPAC accepts funds from pro-business individuals. BizPAC’s funds are raised and spent independent of Chamber member dues and spent in accordance with the Chamber’s mission to promote business. BizPAC is supported by a volunteer finance committee comprised of local business leaders who agree to organize and host events that raise funds for the PAC.

Additionally, BizPAC members can participate in candidate endorsement recommendations to the Chamber’s Board of Directors and in candidate recruitment activities at all level’s of government. BizPAC is also planning to host candidate training seminars for local office in the City of Flagstaff leading up to the 2012 City Elections.
